What to have ready when you call
Gather these before you dial if the situation is safe. If it is not, call first and fill in the rest as you go.
- Your street address, town and ZIP, plus any unit or apartment number.
- A one-sentence description of the problem and when it started.
- Whether you closed the main shutoff and whether the water has stopped.
- The make and age of a water heater, if the call involves one.
- Whether you own the home, rent it or manage it for an owner.
- Photos of the damage, which you can describe to the plumber.
- A phone number the plumber can reach you on during the visit.
What happens on the call
Every call follows the same short path.
- A dispatcher answersYou describe what you see, and the dispatcher asks follow-up questions about the water, the fixture and any safety risk.
- We sort emergency from plannedA burst pipe or a sewer backup goes to the emergency queue. A dripping faucet or a heater that still works is booked as planned work.
- We match a licensed and insured plumberThe dispatcher tells you what happens next and what to do while you wait.
- The plumber confirms the priceThe plumber gives you a clear price before work starts. You decide whether to proceed.
Phone for service, email for business questions only
The email address is contact@247plumbermiddletownde.com. Use it for business questions such as a partnership inquiry, a records request or a question about this website. It is not a dispatch channel, and a plumbing problem sent there may not be read in time.
If you have a plumbing problem, even a minor one, use the phone. We answer the same line for emergencies and planned jobs, and a conversation lets the dispatcher ask the questions that matter, such as where the water is coming from.
Emergency or planned: how to decide before you call
Emergencies are anything where water is flowing or sewage is backing up, where there is no hot water in cold weather, or where a pipe has failed. Planned jobs include a water heater swap you have scheduled, a repiping estimate, a new fixture or a slow drain that still empties. Same-day appointments are available when the schedule allows.
Call the same way for both. If you are unsure, describe the problem and the dispatcher will tell you which kind it is.
Smell gas? Leave first, then call 911
If you smell gas, leave the building, call 911, then call your gas utility. Do not use a light switch, a lighter or a phone inside the house. Call us only after the utility says it is safe.
For water system questions, such as low pressure on the whole street or water in the road, call the Middletown Water Department at 302-378-2211. The town office is at 302-378-2711. Dial 911 for any emergency.
